
Akarika Dawn started his Rugby League career with the Axemen in 2007 before heading to Australia where is played with the Burleigh Bears in the Gold Coast Rugby League competition. He has since returned to the Axemen after being trailed in the game against Boston where he performed "better than ever" according to Axemen coach Spinner Howland. Akarika was an inside linebacker at the University of Colorado where he had 68 tackles his senior year. He played in all 13 games, including the Champs Sports Bowl, with two starts, against New Mexico State and in the Big 12 title game against Texas in his hometown of Houston.

Luke Gray and Adrian Grayson
Luke Gray and Adrian Grayson arrived in Jacksonville late last week from the West Belconnen Warriors in Canberra, Australia. Luke was the 2007 winner of the prestigious Les McIntyre Medal. The Medal which is named after the Canberra Raiders (NRL) founding father is presented annually to the best and fairest player in the Canberra Raiders Cup.
Adrian who is more commonly known as "Mini" due to his bite size frame, plays in the backrow and is known for his game endurance in offense and he frequently makes over 40 tackles per game. "At 5'9" and 180lbs he is easily playing 50 lbs above his weight class" coach Howland said.
The Axemen will get to test all their new players with their biggest opponent yet as they square off against the undefeated Aston Bulls this Saturday at Hodges Stadium at UNF.
