Axemen Randy Dewey is tackled and slides into touch
Mother nature was making sure she was present at "The Castle" Saturday night by showing just how to turn a field into a lake is not that hard. The torrential down pour lasted throughout the entire game and at times it was like watching water skiers compete said one fan.
At times the rain was falling so fast the surface was 4 inches below water. The New York venue sports one of the best playing surfaces in the AMNRL competition and it was nothing short of "freakish" weather that transformed the ground.
The weather hampered both teams and the lead changed a few times during the game. The Axemen missed a couple of conversions due mainly to the rain making the goal post hard to see and all night it appeared that the last team to score would walk away with the win. The Knight ended up with that honor.
A full report will be posted soon but the Axemen will get 2 points from the game by scoring at least 4 tries and also staying within 6 points of their rivals.
