2nd undefeated regular season in a row for the Axemen

The Axemen defeated the Aston Bulls 42 to 26 in Aston, PA yesterday to return to Jacksonville with a perfect undefeated regular season for the second year in a row. Although the Axemen are the first to admit this record means absolutely nothing after being in the same situation in 2009 and losing the National Championship game, they are most certainly going to enjoy one night of celebration with many of the players and fans heading out for a "few drinks and a show".

The Axemen will start intense playoff preparation tomorrow with sessions 4 times per week to ensure that the 2009 result is not repeated, so tonight is being looked at as a reward for the players. Many of the players will be meeting at Time Out Sports Grill at 6pm tonight for a couple of drinks with fans before heading to the Sick Puppies show sometime about 8pm.

The Sick Puppies are an Australian band whose song "You're Going Down" has been used by the Axemen all season long to fire up the players and fans at all their home games. "The timing could not have been better", said Drew Slover (Axemen co-owner). "The team arrives home after closing up the season like this and then the band whose music helped us make a statement at home games is playing in our home town. You couldn't plan this stuff any better if you tried."

The Axemen will now wait for the result from the final regular season game between the Aston Bulls and the Philly Fight this Wednesday to determine how the playoffs game will shape up.
